Senior HR Manager - French Speaking

Dimension & Scope:
This position is responsible for thorough, accurate and timely management of information relating to the administration of employee and benefits data for all level employees up to the Director level and above while maintaining the overall direction, coordination and evaluation of the department.
 

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for selecting, training, developing, and managing performance of direct reports in area of specialty; and mentoring, coordinating, planning, and providing direction for work group(s) in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable legal requirements.
  • Manages the daily administration of the recruitment, benefits, and administration modules of the human resource information system and for maintaining any data tables that are associated with each of the modules.
  • Manages the daily administration of salary and organizational changes, performance appraisals, business compliance records, ensuring that appropriate audit guidelines are followed
  • Manages the daily administration of leave administration including short and long term disability absences, service anniversary awards, and all activities associated with the open enrollment process.
  • Works closely with the Benefits group to communicate new or existing information to employees.
  • Serves as a resource to employees with benefits questions that were not resolved at the first level.
  • Assists in pre-release testing of any upgrades or new releases to the human resource information system.  

Education & Professional Certifications:

Bachelor’s degree in related field from a four-year college or university with six to eight years related experience; or Equivalent combination of education and experience.  

Candidate Profile:

  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of human resources laws, processes and procedures relating to staffing, employee relations, and payroll.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • French speaking preferred
  • Experience in managing functional groups.
  • Proficiency in developing written policies and communications.
  • Demonstrated ability to seek out and suggest alternate procedures to meet objectives and strict deadlines.
  • Must have proficiency with various software applications programs including Lotus Notes, Microsoft Word, and Excel.
  • Attention to detail and excellent organizational skills are necessary.

CORE DRILLER

Core samples are extracted from the ground and subsequently evaluated by the oil company to determine the quality and depth of oil sands prior to commercialization.  Coring operations are most effectively undertaken in the winter months, as the frozen ground conditions permit the deployment of rigs and support equipment to the remote areas of the oil deployment of rigs and support equipment to the remote areas of the oil sands.

Job duties:

à        Lead crew meetings on Safe Work Procedures. 

à        Supervise crew on shift during various activities through progressing of well

à        Follow company procedures for hiring, firing and discipline

à        Runs or assists in running special tools into the hole

à        Constantly is on the lookout for unsafe conditions or acts

à        Report and investigate with the Rig Manager all accidents on his shift

à        Document daily activities in Tour Book

à        Supervise crew during rig up / out operations.  Assist trucking companies with equipment spotting

à        Provide Rig Manager with information on parts required, maintaining rig supplies

à        Provide on the job training to all crew personnel in all aspects of operations

à        Operate rig floors controls

DERRICKHAND

 

The Derrickhand is responsible for maintaining circulation equipment while drilling.  The Derrickhand would have worked his way up through the drilling rig positions.  During tripping operations the Derrickhand works above the rig floor at the monkey board (all rigs except ADRs)

 

Job Duties:

à        Working and maintaining circulation on mud tanks

à        Mixing Mud

à        Working and maintaining pumps

à        Working at height while tripping

à        Assisting in nipple up procedures

à        Supervising and assisting during rig up / out operation

à        Assisting in running casing

à        Ensuring anyone climbing the derrick uses a full body harness and fall protection above 3 meters

à        Assisting the Driller in the maintenance of the drilling rig and other equipment

 

Job Location:

Alberta, Northern British Columbia and Saskatchewan

 

Driller

 

The Driller operates the main controls on the drilling rig, in addition he manage the crew on shift.
